Structural bearings can be designed according to EN 1337, AASHTO LRFD, BS 5400, AS 5100 etc. by FEFCON engineers. In addition to structural bearings, designs of expansion joints such as asphaltic plug, single gap, modular, mat and seismic expansion joints can be done in house.
In order to design structural bearings, project details, requirements, related standards and load tables have to be shared first. If shared documents are not enough in order to optimum design, then it is needed to contact with project designer. After that, bearing is selected and designed, technical drawing is prepared and lastly cost analysis is done. After financial and technical approval, production of structural bearings starts.
Regarding to expansion joints, type of expansion joint is selected firstly in accordance with customer /project requirements. Then, gap distance under estimated installation temperature and movement range of expansion joint have to be given by project designer. After that, optimum expansion joint is specified under these circumstances. Lastly, selected expansion joint is placed to project drawings for specifying the lengths of each module and cost analysis is done. After financial and technical approval, production of expansion joints starts.
